N-(2-Methoxybenzyl)phenethylamine (x-NBOMe)
The x-NBOMe compounds are a chemical class of organic compounds derived from the core 2C-x phenethylamine structure. They are 2C-x phenethylamines in which a benzyl group bearing a methoxy substituent, an N-2-methoxybenzyl group, has been attached to the amine nitrogen, hence the name NBOMe. The core keeps the 2,5-dimethoxy benzene ring and 4-position substituent of the parent 2C compound, with the added N-benzyl arm being the distinguishing structural change. This N-benzyl addition dramatically increases affinity at the serotonin 5-HT2A receptor, making the class potent and long-acting psychedelics.
