Benzylamine

Benzylamines are a chemical class of organic compounds derived from the core arylalkylamine structure, with a single carbon between the aromatic ring and the nitrogen. This makes them one carbon shorter than the phenethylamines. As a small umbrella family, they encompass the benzamide opioids, the benzylpiperazines, and, by one structural lineage, the arylcyclohexylamine dissociatives. Because of this breadth, members act across several psychoactive categories rather than sharing a single effect profile.
