2C-G is a psychedelic phenethylamine of the 2C-x family first synthesized by Alexander Shulgin.citation needed It is an exceptionally rare research chemical distinguished by its remarkably long duration of action and its unusual effect profile relative to other psychedelics. Unlike most substances in its class, 2C-G produces minimal to no visual activity and is instead characterized primarily as an insight-enhancing compound.1 It is structurally related to both 2C-D and Ganesha.citation needed

2C-G is characterized as an insight-enhancing psychedelic in which the cognitive and introspective components dominate while visual effects remain muted or absent. The experience reaches a plateau within roughly two hours and then holds there for an exceptionally long time, with a total duration of 18 to 30 hours and residual aftereffects that can take a day or more to fully resolve. This extreme length is widely regarded as the primary factor limiting its use, despite the depth and quality of the headspace it produces.

Physical

Mental and physical stimulation are present, sometimes manifesting as a strong internal energy tremor even while the body remains generally at ease. A sensation of non-physical heat may be felt at onset, and stomach queasiness, appetite suppression, muscle tension, sweating and chills, and difficulty sleeping are reported.

2C-G has been analytically identified and structurally characterized, but the located substance-specific peer-reviewed study did not test receptor binding or functional activity. A 2C-G-specific receptor profile or mechanism therefore cannot currently be stated from that evidence.2

No 2C-G-specific human pharmacokinetic or experimental metabolism study was identified in the literature reviewed. Metabolic pathways reported for other 2C phenethylamines should not be presented as established 2C-G metabolism.23
