HighMethylnaphthidate has abuse potential comparable to amphetamine, cocaine, or methylphenidate because it acts at dopamine transporters, produces euphoria, and may not produce marked tolerance. Its euphoric rush is brief and compulsive, similar to cocaine, which can encourage repeated dosing.
Toxicity
Toxic and fatal dose thresholds have not been established. Methylnaphthidate is a research chemical with minimal documented human-use history.
Increased heart rate and blood pressure occur during use; the risk of cardiovascular strain increases with higher doses or when combined with other stimulants.

Methylnaphthidate (HDMP-28; methyl 2-(naphthalen-2-yl)-2-(piperidin-2-yl)acetate) is not listed in the inspected current official schedules/tables for the 1961, 1971, or 1988 UN drug-control conventions.
