Fluclotizolam

Fluclotizolam molecule structureFluclotizolam molecule structure

Fluclotizolam is a novel thienotriazolodiazepine research chemical structurally derived from etizolam.citation needed It functions as a depressant and anxiolytic through GABAergic activity. Reports suggest it is roughly three times more potent than etizolam with a comparatively shorter duration of action, though dosage information remains inconsistent and poorly established. As with other designer benzodiazepines, it carries significant risks of dependence, and its limited research history means its safety profile is not well characterized.

Dosage & Duration

Dosage

Doses are population estimates that vary widely between individuals.

Threshold~100 µg
Light100-250 µg
Moderate250-500 µg
Strong500-750 µg
Heavy750+ µg

These dosage ranges should be considered provisional estimates. Individual response may vary significantly depending on personal sensitivity, benzodiazepine tolerance, and previous experience with this class of substances.

Subjective Effects

Legacy content. A statistically backed ontology from Mindstate Design Labs is coming soon.

Fluclotizolam produces a classically benzodiazepine-like depressant experience dominated by sedation, anxiety relief, and muscle relaxation, with little to no sensory alteration. As a derivative of etizolam reported to be roughly three times as potent with a shorter half-life, its effects arrive at very small doses and resolve comparatively quickly. At moderate to high doses, memory of the period after ingestion becomes unreliable.

Physical

The body feels heavy, relaxed, and sedated, with pronounced muscle relaxation that scales with dose.

Sedation

Cognitive

The headspace is characterized by a calm, disinhibited mental quiet in which anxious thought loops are suppressed and thinking slows. Gaps in recall are common at higher doses.

Pharmacology

Pharmacodynamics

Fluclotizolam is a thienotriazolodiazepine, a class of compounds that act as positive allosteric modulators of the GABA-A receptor at the benzodiazepine binding site.citation needed Detailed pharmacological characterization of fluclotizolam remains limited in publicly available literature, and no specific receptor binding affinities have been reported.

Pharmacokinetics

Reports suggest fluclotizolam has a shorter half-life than etizolam, though details of its metabolism are not described in the available sources.

Tolerance

Tolerance timelines are rules of thumb, not exact schedules, and vary widely between individuals and use patterns.

Full Tolerance
Tolerance to the sedative and anxiolytic effects develops with repeated use, as is characteristic of benzodiazepine-class compounds. The rate of tolerance development varies considerably between individuals based on dosing frequency and individual physiology.
Cross Tolerance

History & Culture

Fluclotizolam is a thienotriazolodiazepine that was originally synthesized in 1979citation needed but was never developed for medical use or brought to market as a pharmaceutical product. The compound remained obscure for nearly four decades until it resurfaced as a designer drug in the mid-2010s. It was first definitively identified through analytical methods in 2017, joining the growing class of novel benzodiazepines appearing on the research chemical market.

Legality

International

As of 23 August 2026, Fluclotizolam is not listed under the international drug-control conventions. INCB's current identity annex identifies Fluclotizolam as CAS 54123-15-8, gives its chemical name as 2-chloro-4-(2-fluorophenyl)-9-methyl-6H-thieno[3,2-f][1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-a][1,4]diazepine and InChIKey ZDYRCUZZLRLMHG-UHFFFAOYSA-N, but assigns no convention or schedule in the international-control column. Exact-name, CAS-number, chemical-name, and InChIKey searches found no corresponding entry in the complete current Yellow, Green, or Red Lists. The only March 2026 addition to the 1971 Convention is MDMB-FUBINACA, effective 25 November 2026; it does not cover Fluclotizolam.
