2-FEA
2-FEA is a novel synthetic stimulant of the substituted amphetamine class. It is the N-ethylated homolog of 2-fluoroamphetamine (2-FA), featuring an ethyl group bound to the terminal amine of the amphetamine backbone.1 2-FEA produces classical stimulant and entactogenic effects, including stimulation, enhanced focus, and euphoria. It has limited documented history of human use and is primarily available through the online research chemical market.

Subjective Effects
The subjective effects of 2-FEA are very poorly documented, with little formal or anecdotal characterization available. What limited reporting exists describes it as a mild stimulant of the substituted amphetamine family, producing wakefulness and modest physical energy rather than a strongly recreational or perceptually altering experience.
Physical
Mild stimulation and increased wakefulness are the primary reported physical effects.
Stimulation
Pharmacology
Pharmacodynamics
In an in-vitro human monoamine-transporter uptake assay, 2-FEA inhibited DAT and NET at similar submicromolar concentrations and inhibited SERT at a concentration about eight times higher. These data support a predominantly catecholamine-transporter uptake-inhibition profile in that assay.2
Uptake-inhibition IC50 values do not establish that 2-FEA is a transporter substrate or monoamine-releasing agent, and they do not determine clinical potency, dose, or safety in humans.2
Pharmacokinetics
The available transporter study is in vitro and does not provide human absorption, distribution, metabolism, elimination, bioavailability, or half-life data for 2-FEA. Human pharmacokinetics and metabolite profiles therefore remain uncharacterized by this evidence.2

Harm Potential
Addiction & Dependence
Psychological
ModerateModerately addictive with a high potential for abuse and capable of causing psychological dependence among certain users. Compulsive redosing is reported, and cravings may develop with chronic use.
Physical
LowWithdrawal effects may occur if a person suddenly stops usage after developing addiction, though specific physical withdrawal symptoms are not well-documented. The emphasis in available literature is on psychological rather than physical dependence.
Psychosis Risk
Psychosis is listed as a potential after effect during the comedown period. Anxiety, paranoia, and delusions typically occur with overly high doses or after redosing and staying awake for extended periods, following the pattern typical of stimulant use.
History & Culture
2-FEA emerged as a novel psychoactive substance distributed through online research chemical vendors. Limited formal documentation exists regarding its precise origins, initial synthesis, or the circumstances of its introduction to the recreational drug market.…
