Phenylpropylamine
Phenylpropylamines are a chemical class of organic compounds derived from the core arylalkylamine structure, with a three-carbon chain between the aromatic ring and the nitrogen, one carbon longer than the phenethylamines. Members differ by ring substituents and by groups on the sidechain and amine. The class includes atypical opioid analgesics that combine mu-opioid activity with monoamine reuptake inhibition. The extended three-carbon chain is what distinguishes the family from the shorter phenethylamines.
