Benzeneacetamide (U-compounds)

Benzeneacetamides are a chemical class of organic compounds derived from the phenethylamine and benzamide families, in which an acetamide bridge connects to an aryl ring. They sit structurally between those two families, sharing features of each. The class includes most of the Upjohn U-series compounds beyond U-47700 itself, which act as opioid agonists at the mu-opioid receptor. As with other novel synthetic opioids, their potency carries a notable overdose risk.
