Aleph is best characterized by the erratic and unpredictable nature of its response curve: the same dose can produce a profound peak experience in one instance and only mild, unremarkable effects in another, even in experienced users. Reported experiences range from an uneventful threshold state at moderate doses to full-intensity psychedelic intoxication, with one landmark low-dose experience marked by ego-inflation and mania-like thought processes that could not be reproduced on subsequent attempts.

Cognitive

The headspace at full intensity involves a rapid and disorienting shift in frame of reference. Verbal and social faculties can remain largely intact — conversation by telephone stays manageable — while mechanical and sequential tasks such as reading, arranging objects, or alphabetizing become alien and effectively impossible, and driving is entirely out of the question. Peak experiences have featured pronounced ego-inflation with elements resembling mania.
