2-Chloroephenidine
2-Chloroephenidine is a dissociative research chemical of the diarylethylamine class and a structural analogue of ephenidine. Very little is known about this compound's pharmacology, toxicity, or subjective effect profile.citation needed It is believed to produce dissociative effects and is reported to be slightly less potent than its parent compound. Due to the near-total absence of research or documented human use, it should be approached with extreme caution.

As of 23 August 2026, 2-Chloroephenidine (2-(2-chlorophenyl)-N-ethyl-1-phenylethylamine) is not named or chemically designated in the current complete INCB Yellow, Green or Red Lists. The Green List instead places diphenidine, chemically designated as 1-(1,2-Diphenylethyl)piperidine, in Schedule II. That entry does not cover 2-Chloroephenidine: diphenidine contains a piperidine ring, while 2-Chloroephenidine is an open-chain N-ethylamine with an ortho-chloro substituent. The Green List's stereoisomer guidance applies within the specific chemical designation of a scheduled substance, not to constitutionally distinct analogues. INCB's March 2026 notice adds only MDMB-FUBINACA to Schedule II, with effect from 25 November 2026, and does not name 2-Chloroephenidine. Accordingly, the current INCB materials establish no scheduling of 2-Chloroephenidine under the 1961, 1971 or 1988 conventions.
