2-Phenylmorpholine (phenylmorpholines)
Phenylmorpholines are a chemical class of organic compounds derived from the core amphetamine structure, cyclized into a morpholine ring, a six-membered ring containing one oxygen and one nitrogen. The amphetamine sidechain and amine are folded into this ring, with a phenyl group attached and variable ring substituents distinguishing the members. Most phenylmorpholines act as dopaminergic and noradrenergic stimulants. The morpholine ring is the defining structural feature separating them from the open-chain amphetamines.
