Generic structure

Indazoles are a chemical class of organic compounds derived from the core amine structure, consisting of a benzene ring fused to a pyrazole ring. Structurally they are bioisosteres of the indoles, differing by an extra nitrogen in the five-membered ring. In psychoactive chemistry the family is most visible as the core of many synthetic cannabinoid receptor agonists. The fused benzene-pyrazole ring system is the defining structural feature of the class.
