2-Amino-5-aryloxazoline (aminorexes)

Aminorexes are a chemical class of organic compounds organized around a 2-amino-oxazoline ring, a five-membered ring containing both an oxygen and a nitrogen, bearing an amino group, with a phenyl ring attached. Members differ by substituents on that phenyl ring or on the oxazoline ring itself. Most aminorexes act as stimulants through the release of monoamines, relating them structurally and functionally to the broader phenethylamine stimulants. The amino-aryl-oxazoline arrangement is what defines the class.
