5-MeO-NiPT
5-MeO-NiPT is a psychedelic drug of the tryptamine class, structurally related to 5-MeO-DMT and to other tryptamines including DiPT and DET. It acts as a non-selective serotonin receptor agonist, including at the 5-HT2A receptor. Absent from Alexander Shulgin's TiHKAL, it was encountered as a novel designer and recreational drug by 2014. Little information is available on it.

5-MeO-NiPT acts as a non-selective serotonin receptor agonist, behaving as a full or near-full agonist at the 5-HT1A, 5-HT2A, 5-HT2B, and 5-HT2C receptors. It has no activity as a serotonin releasing agent and is only very weakly active as a serotonin reuptake inhibitor. In rodents it produces the head-twitch response, a behavioral proxy for psychedelic effects, although relatively weakly compared to most other N-monoalkylated tryptamines, alongside hypolocomotion and hypothermia. When the serotonin 5-HT1A receptor antagonist WAY-100635 is given alongside it, 5-MeO-NiPT instead produces hyperlocomotion.

5-MeO-NiPT is itself an active metabolite of 5-MeO-MiPT and 5-MeO-DiPT.
