4-EMC
4-EMC is a synthetic stimulant and entactogen of the substituted cathinone class.1 It is a structural isomer of both 4-MEC and 3,4-DMMC.2 Initially identified in Europe, it has since been detected in numerous countries worldwide, first appearing in Australia in 2020. As a designer drug with limited research history, there is minimal documentation regarding its safety profile and long-term effects, and it is considered habit-forming.

The experience is that of a euphoric, socially disinhibiting stimulant, with users reporting mood lift, increased energy and alertness, heightened sociability, and increased libido.
