Pyrazolopyrimidine
Pyrazolopyrimidines are a chemical class of organic compounds derived from the core amine structure, consisting of a fused pyrazole and pyrimidine ring system. Members differ by the substituents attached to this fused core. In psychoactive use the family provides a non-benzodiazepine hypnotic that acts as a positive modulator at the GABA-A receptor, belonging to the group of Z-drugs. The fused pyrazole-pyrimidine ring system is the defining feature of the class.
