Piperidine

Piperidines are a chemical class of organic compounds derived from the core amine structure, consisting of six-membered saturated rings containing one nitrogen atom. This ring is one of the most common heterocycles in pharmacology and appears across many drug families. Because the ring is so general, its members span several psychoactive categories, but its most consequential psychoactive branch is the anilidopiperidine opioids. The single-nitrogen saturated six-membered ring is the shared feature of the class.
