Cyclopyrrolone
Cyclopyrrolones are a chemical class of organic compounds derived from the core amine structure, built on a cyclopyrrolone core in which a pyrrolone ring is fused to an additional heterocycle. Members carry various substituents on this scaffold. They act as non-benzodiazepine positive modulators at the GABA-A receptor and belong to the group of hypnotics commonly called Z-drugs. The fused cyclopyrrolone core is the defining structural feature of the class.
